We actually have three children, brothers and sisters – in fact a whole family – that is in dire need of help. Guldana Kaldibayeva is a widowed mother of four children. Originally from Shymkent in the southern region of Kazakhstan, she has moved to the city of Almaty in order to get treatment for three of her children. Look at the photos and you will see they look like average children, but they are not.
I am the Education Director of COCA and my job is usually to develop and administer programs. So as such, I’m not used to – or very good at – asking for help. But I believe this is an extreme situation. I met these children yesterday and I was so moved after meeting them that I had to write this.
If any of you know any special children, you understand how heartbreaking it is. You would do anything to try to help them and it is the same for parents here in Kazakhstan. When I met and spoke to Guldana, their mother, it was obvious that she is at the end of her ropes.
You must realize how frustrating it is for the parents because in Kazakhstan, there is no government help for special children. Autism has not been classified as either a psychological disorder or a medical/genetic problem. Therefore, there are no programs to work with ASD children. Here we also have few professionals qualified to teach them. Guldana has been able to find an intensive course for two weeks at the Rostok Center for Child Development in Almaty but how can you pay for your dream for your children?
She is asking for $2500 for a 2-week Intensive course for the kids, the goal of which should be to prepare one or hopefully two of the children to attend public school in the fall and help this mother to better work with the children at home.

As I said at the start, this is an extremely dire situation. I believe that COCA and you, as responsible supporters have the obligation to, as COCA’s Mission Statement says – “ensure that the world’s most vulnerable – especially children at risk – improve their lives and livelihoods in attaining full human dignity”. This is the chance to do just that. I, personally, will start it off with a donation of $200. That leaves us needing only $2300. Please be next.

I am Guldana Kaldybayeba, mother of four unique children. Three of them have been diagnosed with autism spectrum. The first child –Meruert Kaldybayeva, born 25 May 1999 –is wonderful. She finished school this year with a gold medal. The second child – Aruzhan Serikpayil Iliyas, born 10 february 2007 – is diagnosed with ECA(Early Childhood Autism). The third – Erkebulan Serikpayil Iliyas, 17 February 2009 – also has ECA. The fourth – Zhasulan Serikpayil Iliyas, 27 May 2012 – was diagnosed with CHD (congenital heart disease), Hydrocephalia, and ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder).
The oldest, Meruert, was born from my first marriage. In 2006 I remarried a second time to Serikpayil Iliyas Tashimov.
In 2012, as the result of an unfortunate accident, my husband, Serikpayil Iliyas Tashimov, died. In 2013, as the result of the congenital heart disease, my youngest son, Zhasulan, underwent emergency surgery on his heart; because it was a life threatening condition. Along with that, treatment for the older children had to stop because I could not pay: I was left without compensation and could not work .Also on my shoulders was the care for the seventy year old mother of my late husband who had bronchial asthma. The relatives of my husband took the home where I and my children lived. So I was forced to make the decision to move to Almaty.
In 2016 I moved with the children from Shymkent oblast, Maktaralskogo district, to Almaty, as in Shymkent there is no rehabilitation center, nor any possible assistance for the recovery of my children, let alone an ABA center. In Almaty we applied to the Center “Miras” Asyl-where in the course of the year the children studied 3 times per week for one lesson free of charge. It was good help for us, but the results were very low. I continued searching, searched the Internet and turned on the TV to the program ” Айтуга Онай Kazakhstan”. There I learned about ABA therapy and courses with your sponsorship help, I finished the first course for you and personally owe Zhanat Akhmetova huge debt of gratitude for giving me the opportunity to learn about ABA therapy. I also learned that this method is at the heart of “Rostok Center”, and personally saw and confirmed the effectiveness of the application of ABA therapy. I really want my kids to get quality and professional assistance. Because I believe that my children have the makings of very good people. Unfortunately I cannot pay for the services of an ABA therapist. As of today, the family lives in a two-room apartment which costs 90,000 KZT(265 USD) per month. Payment for the apartment comes from social welfare of 173,000 (508 USD) which is given by the state for the children. The rest of the money goes for food and travel expenses: for example, I cannot travel on public transport with three children who can have undesirable behavior connected to their autism and therefore must take taxis which further strains the family budget. I cannot work because I cannot leave the three children alone.
I very much hope that you can understand and help pay for the “Intensive” program in the amount of 2500 USD for the three children where I also learn how to work with the children and receive practical experience which I can take home with me. This would give the possibility to raise the quality of life for my children.

Я – Калдыбаева Гульдана, мать-одиночка четверых детей. Трое из них страдают расстройством аутистического спектра. Первый ребенок – Калдыбаева Меруерт, 21.05.1999 г.р – отличница, закончила в этом году школу на золотую медаль. Второй ребенок – Ильяс Аружан Серикпайкызы 10.02.2007 г.р, диагноз: ДРА (детский ранний аутизм). Третий ребенок – Ильяс Еркебулан Серикпайулы 16.02.2009 г.р. – диагноз ДРА. Четвертый ребенок – Ильяс Жасулан Серикпайулы 27.05.2012 г.р, диагноз: ВПС (врожденный порок сердца), гидроцефалия, РАС (расстройство аутистического спектра).
Старшая дочь Меруерт родилась от первого брака. В 2006 году я второй раз вышла замуж за Ташимова С.И.
В 2012 году в результате несчастного случая от удара током скончался мой супруг Ташимов Серикпай Ильясович. В 2013 г. В результате обнаружения порока сердца у младшего сына Жасулана, провелась срочная операция на сердце,т.к. возможен был летальный исход . В связи с этим лечение старших детей было отложено из-за невозможности оплатить, т.к. я осталась без кормильца и не была трудоустроена. Также на мои плечи был возложен уход за страдающей бронхиальной астмой семидесятилетней матерью погибшего мужа. Родственники мужа после его смерти забрали дом, в котором жили мы с детьми. И я вынуждена была принять решение переехать в Алматы.
В 2016 году я с детьми переехала из Шымкентской области, Мактааралского района в г.Алматы, т.к. в Шымкенте нет ни реабилитационного центра, ни какой-либо возможной помощи для восстановления моих детей, тем более АВА-кабинета. В Алматы мы обратились в центр «Асыл-Мирас» где в течение года 3 раза в неделю по одному уроку на бесплатной основе дети обучались. Это было для нас хорошее подспорье , но результаты оказались на очень низком уровне. Я продолжала поиски ,искала в интернете, обратилась в телевидение на передачу «Айтуга Онай» на телеканале «Казахстан». Там я узнала про курсы АВА-терапии и с Вашей спонсорской помощью я закончила первый курс, за что Вам и лично Ахметовой Ж.Б огромная благодарность, что дали мне возможность узнать об АВА-терапии. Также я узнала, что в центре «Росток» занимаются по данной методике, и лично увидела и убедилась в эффективности применения АВА-терапии. Я очень хочу, чтобы мои дети получили качественную и профессиональную помощь. Потому что верю, что у моих детей очень хорошие задатки. К сожалению, оплачивать услуги АВА-терапии мне представляется невозможным.На сегодняшний день мы живем на съемной двухкомнатной квартире ,стоимость аренды которой составляет 90.000 тенге. Оплачивается квартира из с социального пособия 173.000 тенге (сто семьдесят три тысячи тенге), которое выдается государством на детей. Остальная сумма остается на питание, на дорогу особенно большие затраты ,т.е я не могу ездить с детьми в общественном транспорте, у них есть нежелательное поведение в связи с аутистическим расстройством , поэтому в городе мне приходится передвигаться с детьми на такси, что тоже сказывается на семейном бюджете. Трудоустроиться не могу, т.к. троих детей не на кого оставлять.
Очень надеюсь на Ваше понимание и помощь в оплате за обучение по программе «Интенсив» в размере 2500 долларов США за троих детей , где я буду тоже сама учиться как работать с детьми и полученные знания и практический опыт буду применять в домашних условиях. Это даст возможность улучшить качество жизни детей.
